Astley Clarke upgrades its cross-border eCommerce proposition and sees significant improvements to revenue.

Astley Clarke has increased its international revenue by 367% after partnering with Global-e to localise its eCommerce website.

Shares of sales from international customers increased to 25-40% each week, up from 15-20% before the launch of the new cross-border website. Astley Clarke now actively sells to over 60 countries worldwide.

Around 18 months ago the British jewellery retailer was shipping to over 100 countries, but faced difficulties such as high shipping rates, import duties, tax calculations, local returns and supporting local payment methods, which impacted on conversion rates.

Astley Clarke’s UK shoppers were three times more likely to convert than international shoppers but the retailer has now seen an increase in conversion rate from non-UK visitors by more than 160%.

“We wanted to partner with an eCommerce provider that had demonstrated results,” said Scott Thomson, CEO of Astley Clarke. “Global-e doesn’t just house software people – their strong competency in delivery gave us confidence that they understood how markets grow and they can adapt customer service strategy accordingly. After a smooth and guided implementation process, this is just the beginning of a strategic partnership between Astley Clarke and Global-e which will see us moving ahead with our international goals as we transform shopping in local markets through investment in more efficient and engaging eCommerce experiences.”

Astley Clarke now offers international shoppers the ability to pay in their local currency and with alternative payment methods, as well as free delivery for all international orders and the option to pre-pay all import taxes and duties.
