The exclusive Säbener Lounge at Bayern Munich's Allianz Arena hosts an array of digital touchpoints and smart technology features to help serve customers in a modern manner.

Various smart technology and digital touchpoints for customers are being used in the newest lounge at German football club Bayern Munich's Allianz Arena stadium.

Included in the Säbener Lounge, which is used for match-day events and corporate parties or briefings, are large-scale LED video walls, high-definition televisions, LED video signage on the bar, an advanced background music system and individually adjustable lighting.

The smart building technology used to streamline the interior lighting, sound and multimedia imagery at the venue was designed and implemented by Wilhelm & Wilhalm - event technology in partnership with Austrian screen tech company AV Stumpfl.

AV Stumpfl's audio visual input output has been implemented into the lounge, providing a network that brings all system devices on to the same communication layer, while the vendor's Wings Touch acts as user interface for iPad control of scenes. In an internet-of-things-style move, this feature allows staff to operate the system using a single interface.

Klemens Schwarz, software project manager at AV Stumpfl, commented: "Everybody involved in modern AV installations and projects will be familiar with the challenges of having numerous devices from different manufacturers all speaking a different language.

"The work that our AV Stumpfl gold partner, Wilhelm & Willhalm – event technology, has achieved for the Säbener Lounge sets a new standard in smart building control."

Wilhelm & Willhalm provides the technical equipment across the entire Allianz Arena, including the stadium's press centre.

Meanwhile in the UK, Norwich City Football Club have also invested in digital screen technology.

Ahead of the new season, which kicked off in August, the Championship club partnered with ADI to install a new stadium screen at the club's Carrow Road home. The Epoch 400 is a 45 sq m high-resolution screen measures 400-inches diagonally and revolves between portrait and landscape.

Fans commenting on Norwich City's start to the season have referenced the new screen on Twitter. Supporter @Keels811 said: "The big screen is #NCFC's best signing of the summer. I wonder if it can play up front too."
