MariElla Labels Oy describes what it will be showcasing at RBTE 2017 on 8 & 9 May.

The 21st century fashion retailer market is incredibly fierce, with both high street and online retailers competing for a place in their customers’ hearts. In order for high street stores to continue to conquer the consumer market, the experience they offer the customer must be unrivalled.

At the Retail Business Technology Expo (RBTE) 2017 MariElla Labels Oy is exhibiting at stand 1500/1501 and will be showcasing two of its dynamic and disruptive solutions; EllaFashion electronic price labels and EllaFittingRoom, an intelligent fitting room.

The dynamic, digital labels will be on display at the stand, where the look and feel of the innovative solution can be examined by visitors. The labels will be attached to various garments, allowing visitors to gage how lightweight the electronic labels are.

Pricing mix-ups and price discrepancies between online and in-store present real problems for retailers. The EllaFashion system offers an innovative solution to this problem. The system consists of digital price tags, which are firstly scanned into the intelligent inventory system and then attached to individual garments. When the price of an item needs to be altered across all channels, an employee working in the retailer’s headquarters can simply log on to the inventory system and update the price of the garment – both across every store and online – with the click of a button. Not only can the prices be altered at critical points, but customers can also submit an online rating of a product, which retail employees can then update via the intelligent, digital inventory system. There is also no need for ‘line of sight’ between the labels and controller software which means price updates can be completed remotely with ease.

The stand will also feature a prototype of the EllaFittingRoom, where visitors will be able to enter the intelligent room and use the tablet provided to search for specific apparel items. Alongside these two pieces of technology, EllaFashion’s retail technology experts will also be on-hand to provide insights into how the innovative pieces of technology can work in conjunction with one another to form a seamless, forward-thinking system for retailers.

The forward-thinking EllaFashion system also utilises radio frequency identification (RFID) – a technology which can automatically track and identify the electronic price tags. This is utilised particularly well in the fitting rooms of retailers if they also choose to implement the EllaFittingRoom solution. A smart, digital solution for fitting rooms, it can essentially provide customers with the convenience of a personal shop assistant at the touch of a button, via a smart tablet which is located in each of the fitting rooms. Not only can customers request different sizes and colours of the garment, but the EllaFittingRoom also provides a report for retailers on data such as the number of fitting room visits per day, amount of calls for the shop assistant, average time spent in the fitting room and the average time spent waiting for a shop assistant.

The entire solution also features sophisticated anti-theft technology. In an EllaFittingRoom, the system is programmed to calculate and report unusual behaviour that might occur in the fitting room, such as someone entering with a large quantity of the same product.
