European online retail group Yoox Net-a-Porter is set to open a central technology hub for its UK-based teams in London's White City.
The facility, which is expected to open in March 2017, will bring together the company's engineers where the plan is to create "best-in-class technology solutions" – particularly around mobile innovation – and accelerate the group's research and development capabilities.
Yoox's site will accommodate for the planned 20% increase in its global technology team, which it aims to grow to 1,000 employees equally spread across the UK and home territory, Italy.
Federico Marchetti, CEO of Yoox Net-a-Porter, commented: "We believe our technology teams will thrive in a cutting-edge environment that reflects our values and vision for the future of online luxury retail.
"Sir Nicholas Grimshaw and his team are brilliantly translating our culture and requirements into a workspace which will be the pride of the group."
The reference to Sir Nicholas comes after his architecture firm, Grimshaw, was selected to design the work environment to reflect the group's position at the intersection of fashion and technology.
Up to a quarter of the surface will be dedicated to adaptive space with the aim of fostering creative and collaborative ways of working.
